(Lancaster) -- Firefighters are climbing the stairs at Lancaster's Clipper Magazine Stadium, today, in honor of the 343 New York City firefighters killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.

Participants in Third Annual Lancaster 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb are scaling the equivalent of 110 stories -- the same number of floors that were in the World Trade Towers.

This morning's event steps off at 9 o'clock.

Registration was capped at 343 firefighters to ensure the fallen heroes are never forgotten.

Proceeds benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
