(Londonderry Township) -- Three Mile Island's emergency notification sirens are scheduled for a test run today.

The siren system within a 10-mile radius of the Londonderry Township-based plant is set to sound at 12:15 this afternoon.

The 96 newly-upgraded sirens will sound for three minutes.

The purpose of the system is to notify residents to tune into an Emergency Alert System radio or TV station in case of an emergency.
