(Harrisburg) -- U.S. House Speaker John Boehner was in Pennsylvania, today, to tell attendees at a fundraiser that House Republicans will continue to fight the sweeping federal health care law and focus on government scandals when they return after August.

Congressman Scott Perry told reporters that Boehner said the Republican-controlled U.S. House will also work on immigration and tax proposals in the fall. Perry is a freshman who easily won the 4th District race in south-central Pennsylvania.

Perry says about 100 people attended the $500-per-head fundraiser at Metro Bank Park on Harrisburg's City Island. Nearby, a few dozen protesters demonstrated in favor of immigration legislation.

Perry says he expects the U.S. House to pass a bill on immigration, but he says a Senate immigration plan is flawed.
