(Harrisburg) -- A former eight-term state lawmaker from Lancaster County is Governor Corbett's new legislative affairs secretary.

More recently, Katie True has been a commissioner of the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs within the Pennsylvania Department of State.

Corbett calls her a strong advocate for children and families.

She founded Kids Saving Kids, a drug-abuse prevention program for elementary school students, and has served as executive director of the Pennsylvania Commission for Women.
