(Harrisburg) -- Governor Corbett is getting an early start on his Labor Day vacation at his family's retreat on the South Carolina coast.

A spokeswoman says Corbett left Friday to spend time with his family at the vacation home in Hilton Head. He plans to return to Harrisburg after Labor Day.

Spokeswoman Lynn Lawson says the governor has been busy making phone calls during his time off and remains ``very much engaged'' in developments back at the Capitol.

Corbett and his wife Susan bought the property for $ 265,000 in December. witf's StateImpact Pennsylvania first reported the governor's failure to disclose the purchase in his annual Code of Conduct statement of financial interest.
