Franklin County deaths probed as possible murder-suicide

(Chambersburg) -- Authorities say they are investigating the deaths of a man and woman in a central Pennsylvania home as a possible murder-suicide.

State police in Franklin County said they responded early Sunday to a report of a possible shooting in Greene Township.

Troopers said they found 60-year-old Gordon Brown of Chambersburg and 40-year-old Kelley Brown of Chambersburg with gunshot wounds.

Coroner Jeffrey Conner pronounced the woman dead at the scene and estimated that she died sometime before 3:45 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the man was taken to Chambersburg Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 5 a.m. Saturday.

Conner said both died of single gunshot wounds to the head.

Police said they believe the shootings occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Sunday
