Angela Bauman speaks at the ribbon cutting of Beau's Dream Dog Park in Lancaster.

(Lancaster) -- Midstate dog owners have a new place to play with their four-legged friends.

Beau's Dream Dog Park in the City of Lancaster has been made over thanks to the vision of Angela Bauman and her dog, Beau.

Speaking at the ribbon cutting Tuesday, Bauman says she won the national "Beneful Dream Dog Park Contest" by enlisting the help of the Lancaster community.

"It has surpassed our expectations," Bauman says, fighting back tears. "Thank you to everyone here for supporting Beau and I throughout this contest, and, of course, for celebrating here with us today."

Bauman says the facility is an "amusement park" for dogs, complete with water features and equipment for dogs to climb on and over.

The park's $500,000 transformation is being funded by an in-kind grant from the dog food company Purina Beneful and the city.
