(Wernersville) -- Authorities say that police officers who fatally shot a 20-year-old Wernersville man acted properly.

The Berks County District Attorney's Office says that Jonathan D. Rutkowski was shot by officers July 27 along the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks after he pointed two pistols at police.

District Attorney John T. Adams says in a statement that the officers involved in the shooting demonstrated great restraint and their use of deadly force was justified.

Rutkowski never fired his two guns but ignored repeated orders to drop the weapons.
