(Harrisburg) -- Authorities say a Perry County police chief has been charged with driving under the influence.

Police say 59-year-old Harrisburg resident Richard L. Pickles was charged Thursday.

Investigators say he was pulled over by Susquehanna Township police in June after he failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.

Authorities say he had a blood alcohol content of 0.082 percent, just over the legal limit.

Pickles is chief of police in Penn Township, Perry County.

He was Harrisburg's police chief for a brief period in 2010.

Messages left with Pickles and at the police department weren't immediately returned.
