More changes expected for Governor Corbett's staff

(Harrisburg) -- Governor Corbett is expected to announce changes in his top staff as his campaign for a second term gears up and his public support lags in in the polls.

Three people with knowledge of the decision-making process tell The Associated Press that changes could be announced as early as this week.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because the Republican governor hadn't made any such information public yet.

An administration spokesman didn't respond to requests for comment.

Privately, some advisers are concerned about Corbett's sagging public support and his administration's communication with the public and the Republican-controlled Legislature.

One Republican strategist who says he's not been told officially about any changes, Charles Gerow, says it's normal for some governor's staff to leave before re-election season is in full swing.
