(Columbia) -- The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for the person who shot a Canada goose through the chest with an arrow, an injury that eventually killed the animal.

The injured bird was discovered yesterday at Columbia River Park in Columbia and was taken to Red Creek Wildlife Center in Schuylkill Haven.

The center's founder, wildlife rehabilitator Peggy Sue Hentz, says the bird died during surgery to remove the arrow.

Game commission spokesman Travis Lau says the shooting appeared to be unrelated to hunting. An investigation is underway.
