Three Mile Island

(Londonderry Township, Dauphin County) -- Three Mile Island will test its emergency siren system today.

The first will take place at 12:15 this afternoon.

The second alarm sounding will happen an hour later.

The tests are a dry run for the 96 new sirens recently installed by TMI's owner, Exelon Generation.

Alarms stationed within a 10-mile radius around the power plant in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, will sound for three minutes during each of the tests.

In a real emergency, the sirens are an indication to tune into an Emergency Alert System radio or TV station for the latest information.
