(Carlisle) -- The mayor of a Cumberland County borough says the July 4th fireworks show might be a no-go.

Carlisle Mayor William Kronenberg says the borough needs community donations to pay for its annual Independence Day fireworks show.

Kronenberg says he must decide within the next few days whether there will be fireworks this year.

The borough relies on donations to pay for the display, but it has raised just $16,100 dollars of the $25,000 it needs to put on the July 6th show.

Kronenberg is encouraging people to mail checks to the borough.
