(Milton) -- State and federal agents have raided a Northumberland County company that cleans up spills, hauls fracking waste and provides other environmental services to the natural gas drilling industry.

The raid took place this morning at Minuteman Environmental Services in Milton. Agents from the state Attorney General's Office and the IRS also participated, loading boxes of evidence into an unmarked white truck.

The FBI and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection confirmed they were among the agencies taking part.

Gov. Tom Corbett visited the company more than a year ago as part of an effort to drum up support for his state budget proposal. He called Minuteman "an American success story." The Central Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce recently named Minuteman its ``Business of the Year.''

A man who answered the phone at Minuteman declined comment on the investigation.
