(Hanover) -- Hanover's daily newspaper is cutting back its publication to three days a week.

Sara Glines, publisher of The Evening Sun, says that the change will take effect January 1, 2014.

Glines says the move will allow the company to focus on its website, which will continue to offer continuing news coverage. No staff reductions are planned at this time.

She says the paper, owned by the Denver-based MediaNews Group, will continue to publish on Sundays, but the other two publication days will be picked based on the preference of readers and advertisers.

The Patriot-News, which serves the Harrisburg area, cut back to a three-day publication schedule at the beginning of this year as part of a corporate reorganization that expanded online news coverage on its PennLive website.
