(Harrisburg) -- The Pennsylvania band The Hooters, who had a string of hits in the 1980s, will be performing at the state Capitol as part of "Hooters Music Appreciation Day."

The Philadelphia-area band is scheduled to perform from noon to 1 p.m. today in the East Wing Rotunda.

The band is being honored with a Senate resolution in honor of the group's 33 years together.

The resolution's sponsor, Sen. Daylin Leach, has called The Hooters one of the most successful musical groups to have been launched in Pennsylvania.

The band is known best for "And We Danced," "Day by Day" and "Fightin' on the Same Side" from the mid to late 1980s.

In the video below, The Hooters are performing "And We Danced" in 1985.
