(Harrisburg) -- A Florida-based company is being fined by the state for waste violations at its landfill in Lancaster County.
The Department of Environmental Protection has fined Advanced Disposal Solutions, formerly known as Veolia Environmental Services, more than $108,000.
The company failed to improperly install, certify, and test a waste handling system in Mount Joy Township last November, resulting in a 2,500 gallon release of untreated leachate into a tributary of Little Chiques Creek.
A second leak of 4,300 gallons of the same type of waste water occurred later that month.
