(Newport) -- Police say a body found in central Pennsylvania more than two years ago was a Mississippi woman believed to be the victim of a homicide.

State Police say the University of North Texas' Center for Human Identification used DNA to determine the woman was 38-year-old Teresa Mae Ware of Hinds County, Miss.

Her skeletal remains were found on Sept. 9, 2010, not far from Route 322 near Newport, Perry County. At the time, authorities said her body was discovered by a man surveying the property for a relative who had just bought the land.

Investigators say Ware had been missing since April 2010 and was last known to be with a trucker from Pennsylvania.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Trooper Donald Chewning at 717-567-3110.
