(Harrisburg) -- Governor Corbett's main campaign committee took in $2.9 million in contributions and ended 2012 with a war chest of $3.5 million.
A campaign finance report made public today reveales the "Tom Corbett for Governor" committee received nearly $2 million from business people and other individuals last year. It also received and more than $822,000 from dozens of political-action committees.
Corbett received $100,000 each from John Mork of Englewood, Colo., a petroleum engineer with Energy Corp. of America, which specializes in natural gas and oil; and David Barensfeld of New Brighton, president of Ellwood Group Inc., a metal-products company.
The only declared candidate for governor in 2014, Democrat John Hanger, says his campaign took in $200,000 since he declared his candidacy in November.
