(Harrisburg) -- Hundreds of protesters have rallied at the state Capitol in support of gun rights and to protest proposals for gun control.
Yesterday's event was part of a nationwide movement called Guns Across America.
Participants carried signs and American flags and flooded the Capitol steps.
Many said they favor the universal background checks advocated by the president but not other proposals.
The rallies are primarily organized through social media, and are being held days after President Barack Obama unveiled a sweeping package of gun-control proposals.

"Hundreds of protesters…"
In a state with as many hunters as Pennsylvania has "hundreds of protesters" is nothing to brag about.
