PA GOP ad attacking Kathleen Kane under fire

Kathleen-Kane.jpg(Harrisburg) -- A second claim in a Washington, D.C.-based Republican group's TV ad attacking Pennsylvania's Democratic candidate for attorney general is also being disputed.

Lackawanna County District Attorney Andrew Jarbola says candidate Kathleen Kane had nothing to do with the prosecution of a 16-year-old's rapist in which the ad accuses her of "going soft."

Republican State Leadership Committee had said Friday the group would be changing the ad. That's in response to statements by a Lackawanna County prosecutor and the victim's father that Kane had no role in a rapist's "weak plea deal" the ad claims she made.

The erroneous ad continued to play in the Philadelphia area through the weekend. A committee spokesman says a new ad will air Monday, but the group is not admitting to a mistake.
