(Harrisburg) — Harrisburg's daily newspaper, The Patriot-News, says it will publish on Tuesdays, Thursday and Sundays starting Jan. 2.

Tuesday's announcement was a follow-up to last month's disclosure that the Patriot-News and the Post-Standard of Syracuse, N.Y., are switching to a three-per-week publication schwoman reads newspaperedule as their corporate owner shifts away from daily printed papers.

Both papers are owned by Advance Publications Inc.

The Patriot-News won a Pulitzer Prize earlier this year, and the publisher says there will be an expansion of around-the-clock news coverage online.

Newspapers will continue to be home delivered and will also be available on newsstands.

The Patriot-News and PennLive.com are merging into a new company, PA Media Group, which plans to offer larger newspapers on the three days it publishes.
