Written by Craig Layne, Morning Edition Host/Reporter | Aug 7, 2012 4:12 PM

(North York)-- Workers from York County-based Alpha Factor, a division of PerformGroup LLC, crafted uniforms for Russia's Olympic gymnastics team.  The Russian team claimed the silver medal in the all-around competition in London.

As part of our MoneyWorks series, we visit the company's headquarters in North York.  Business manager and former gymnast Wendy Martin tells witf's Craig Layne while Team USA isn't wearing the midstate-made gear this year, there was a time when it did...

Update:

The State Museum of Pennsylvania is presenting an exhibit of Team USA gymnastics uniforms made by Reading-based GK Elite Sportswear for the 2012 Summer Olympics.  The apparel will be on display in the museum's ground floor lobby through Sunday, September 9th.

The Berks County-based company has manufactured gymnastic apparel for the US Gymnastics Team since the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.  The sportswear maker has also furnished outfits for competitors from the United Kingdom, Australia, the Netherlands, France, Greece, Israel, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Finland.
