Karissa Swartz is a senior in high school. She is heavily involved in school functions, ranging from participation in her school’s student government to athletics such as field hockey and lacrosse. Outside of school, Karissa spends time reading books, discovering new music artists, and driving down back roads with the radio blasting. Along with her other activities, writing has always been a passion of hers—she believes that words are one of the most powerful tools humans possess; through them, the heart can be touched and the soul can be revealed. Learning more about people’s perspectives is also a major interest in Karissa’s life—she believes that everyone has an opinion, he just needs someone to listen.
