Terry was in the 1983 professional baseball draft and opted to attend college at Columbus College in Columbus GA. to play baseball and study business. After college Terry became a golf professional at the local club level where he taught and played in local pro events. In 1987 Terry and his father (and partner at Coldwell Banker) developed a chain of Subway Sandwich Restaurants, which they owned until 2002, after which Terry became a financial advisor at Legg Mason and Masland & Barrick Advisory Inc. In 2009 Terry became a realtor and was reconnected with his father Neil at Homestead Group. Terry has two sons, Trevor 21 and Bryton 18. Trevor is a trim carpenter and roofer for Yingst Homes and Bryton will be attending Towson University to study buisness communications and play football.
