Craig can’t remember a time when witf wasn’t a part of his life. The Mechanicsburg native grew up listening to Car Talk, A Prairie Home Companion and, of course, NPR News. He has a family connection, too. His father, John Layne, spent 26 years hosting witf’s Classical Air and Weekend Edition on Saturdays and Sundays. While studying English and German at Lebanon Valley College, Craig got his start in broadcasting as an intern in the witf newsroom in 2003. During his internship, one of his feature stories won top honors from the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association and the Society of Professional Journalists. His work at witf propelled him to a master’s degree in journalism at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Craig returned to Pennsylvania, spending four years as a reporter at local television stations in Erie and Harrisburg before he came home to witf . Craig, now living in East Pennsboro Township, enjoys spending time with his beautiful fiancée, Amanda. He’s into music of all types, cars and finding new gluten-free foods to enjoy!
