Dr. Jacqueline B. Sallade offers advice for maintaining your mental health.
She acts tolerant and secretly hurts and stews about his unromantic, tired stance. but compared with having cancer, it's nothing. It's good to have a partner in life. Another one complains about the side effects of getting off medications which weren't helpful, while there was a woman in my office this week who spent eight years in prison on false charges. Some people feel that their lives are over after a break-up or divorce, but it's better than an abusive relationship. Others can't face the world after losing a job, but it's better than years of homelessness or real insanity.
Any loss or disappointment is hard and grief is a process. But, life does go on and it takes perspective to see it properly and feel OK. Even the woman who was finally released from unjust prison term, got drug-free, reunited with her children, has a relationship and is moving on. Drowning in misery isn't the only option.
