HealthSmart: Mysteries of the Teenage Mind

Written by  Keira McGuire, witf Producer and Host
Living with a teenager can feel like a roller coaster ride. One minute they’re up and the next minute they’re down. It’s all part of a wave of change taking place in the teenage mind.

During the teenage years the prefrontal cortex is still an active construction site. This part of the brain is involved in judgment and impulse control. It's also the area of the brain that warns of potential consequences.

On the next episode of HealthSmart, we'll go inside the mysterious mind of a teenager. Learn how their developing brains work, why it can be so hard to get a teen out of bed and when parents should be concerned about behavior.

Don't miss HealthSmart: Mysteries of the Teenage Mind at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22nd.
