WITF readers haven't led me astray in the past. You've suggested Chalit's,  you've offered comments about ice cream shops and you haven't been wrong yet!

In the past week, both my husband and my dad have asked about Chinese food Central PA, and I'm stumped. My parents recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary, and my father quipped "I read that this is called the 'China Anniversary,' so I guess I'm supposed to take Mom out for Chinese." Dad jokes aside, where do go for dumplings, bok choy, szechuan chicken or your favorite Chinese food?

Help a newcomer out - Where do you go to get your Chinese food fix in Central PA?

I just moved to the area in March but have been enjoying Empire Asian Bistro at 3819 Union Deposit Road in Harrisburg.

The lack of good Chinese dumpling places around here astounds me. Mitaka has some, but recently cut back on the dim sum portion of their menu. I honestly go to Philly or D.C. for good dumplings. :(

      Yeah, Philly's Chinatown rocks.

Also, I found good Chinese in Northern Virginia but not in DC. Please do share where you found good dumplings.

We like Akitas in Lemoyne on Market St at 7th St. It has Chinese and Japanese cuizine.

Yang's in Lancaster - just north of the city on Oregon Pike - doesn't look like much from the outside but their fried rice is delicious. Evergreen, another hole in the wall on the east end of the city, listens when you ask for spicy, so beware. Their spicy schezuan beef is full of vegetables and flavor!

Yangmings in Bryn Mawr, PA is definitely worth a visit.

It is on the mainline going towards Philly. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and their entree's are quite tasty although a little bit pricey. The fortune cookies are chocolate covered and a real treat to end a meal with. Yangmings is definitely a sit and dine experience.

I'm sad to see that these are all the suggestions you got for Chinese food in Harrisburg Area.

Some great places are Jumbo's buffet on Paxton Street, has an amazing selection, and it is suggested to me by my friends, and it is the best price for the best food. They have gyoza, dumplings, peach dumplings, dim sum, and then they have the usual fare, and they are busy with Asian people. Some of their largest groups of customers are the Asians of this area.

I'm sad that your readers suggested nothing that I thought was as good as Jumbo's, or nearly as is local.
