As Dave Ramsey says...

This just clicked with me today as one of the best ways to relate to our over-abundance of "stuff". We collect things, keep them for future dates and purchase way more than we'll ever need.

What we all really need is money for retirement. When we translate all the money we are dumping into debt and lifestyle habits (such as Coach purses and Starbucks coffee), the only people seeing the money are the corporations selling us "stuff". They have become quite good at influencing us in our purchases.

Hope you find this Dave Ramsey bit below inspiring.

Follow the way of the pirate.

Back in the old days, when a pirate ship was trying to outrun somebody, they would dump all the stuff they didn't need over the side of the boat to get more speed. When you are a gazelle running away from the cheetah (i.e. your debt), you need to cut the lifestyle and dump the unnecessary stuff. Your burden will be much lighter, and you'll be debt-free that much faster.
