Thoughtful Gift Giving

Written by Linda Chavey, Community blogger | Nov 26, 2012 1:15 PM

What is a gift? It is something that is bought for another that has thought and intention in it. It is something that the receiver will enjoy, can use and be appreciative receiving.

A gift is not something that is just bought off a shelf. Unfortunately, it usually is the later.

Creative gift-giving can be accomplished with just a little time and thought. Think about the person and what they enjoy in their lives. I am sure a clever gift-giving idea can be had with a little effort.

Why not make a gift? If someone likes pumpkin pie, clam chowder or flavored coffee, get the ingredients, put them in a basket that you found at the second hand store, tie a ribbon on it and it is a personalized gift. I love this stuff! So creative and it makes the receiver feel special as it is personalized.

As Dave Ramsey says: "Debt is normal. Be weird." This applies to the gift-giving idea also.
