Each winning story was read aloud by its author, who also received a WITF prize package. Special guests Sandy Asher of Lancaster, author of Here Comes Gosling, and Mike Donovan of Enola, illustrative photographer, also addressed the children and families. The first place winners were then entered into the national level of the Contest where a renowned panel of judges will identify the national winners. National winners will be announced and prizes, including laptops, digital cameras and MP3 players will be awarded in summer 2010.

Special thanks to the contest judges:

  • Betsy Heefner, New Cumberland
  • Susan Perkey, Camp Hill
  • Carrie Wissler-Thomas, Harrisburg

  • Mike Donovan, Enola

Special thanks also to the awards ceremony organizer:
