Vocabulary Words: solar system, enlarge, constellation, atmosphere


Punctuation Galaxy

Materials: paper, pens and markers

Directions: 1. Talk about the science words your child will hear in this episode of The Electric Company

2. Discuss the meanings of the words and ask children to create s story about space, using each space word in a silly sentence

3. Have children pick a punctuation mark (a period, exclamation point or a question mark) and read the story aloud as if all sentences end in that symbol

4. Discuss how that punctuation mark changed the story’s sound and meaning
