On Friday, January 28, The Newstead Trio performs in a concert at the Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. The concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m., launches a new series of concerts being presented by the Pennsylvania Academy of Music at a variety of different venues. The concert includes music of Sergei Rachmaninoff, Anton Arensky, Julia Smith, and a work written for the trio by Chinese born composer Ping Jin. We had two of the trio, violinist Michael Jamanis and cellist Sara Male, join us in the WITF Performance Studio to play for us and to chat about their activities with the PAM Satellite Schools Program. You can hear the performance/interview below. And there’s more information about the concert and the Satellite Schools program on the website of the Pennsylvania Academy of Music.
