On September 30 and October 1 and 2, the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra performs a concert of music inspired by the beauty of Scotland. Maestro Stephen Gunzenhauser chatted with us about the upcoming concert, which features Four Scottish Dances by Malcolm Arnold, the much-loved Scottish Fantasy for violin and orchestra by Max Bruch and the Symphony No. 3 of Felix Mendelssohn, which is known as his “Scottish Symphony”. The guest soloist in the Bruch work will be violinist Robert Bokor. For the concert, members of the orchestra will dress in family clan tartans, sashes and shawls. The concert is Friday night at 8, Saturday at 3 and 8 pm and Sunday at 7:30 pm. More information about tickets is available at the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra website.
