The Grammy Awards are coming up just before Valentine’s Day on February 13. This year the nominees include Dave Eggar for Best Instrumental Arrangement for the tune “Itsbynne Reel” from the album Kingston Morning in which Dave plays his signature cello with his band Deoro. We’re rooting for him and for the band because it’s a great arrangement, and also because they dropped into the WITF Performance Studio to play live for us, and also because they just happen to be some really cool people. Our conversation with Dave ranged from the music of Bach to Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle in quantum mechanics and beyond. And the music ranged from Carmen and La Traviata to Jimi Hendrix’ Purple Haze. Enjoy the live studio session below. We certainly did.
