Creative Zone: Memores and Music

Written by  Cary Burkett, witf Host and Producer

Pianist Barry Hannigan had his New York debut in Carnegie Recital hall and his European debut at the Edvard Munch Museum in Oslo, Norway. He has performed all across the United States and abroad in recitals, festivals and concerts, with recent tours of China and Russia.  He is also a dedicated teacher, on the faculty at Bucknell University where he received Bucknell's highest award for inspirational teaching. He has presented masterclasses in every region of the United States. Recently he presented a master class and an evening performance at Elizabethtown College. On his way there he stopped by WITF to perform for us and chat about music. He has a special interest in how a musician’s memory works to retain music, and has done some studies on that. You can hear our live studio session with him below.
