Join us for a special day of gratitude honoring the sacrifices veterans have made for our freedom. WITF's Vietnam War Stories project in partnership with Northeastern High School will host a FREE Honor Bus trip to Washington, D.C., Saturday, April 22, 2017. The trip includes visits to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the National World War II Memorial and more. WITF is proud to be able to help bring high school students and veterans together for a day of gratitude through this unique partnership.

We are currently accepting applications from WWII vets, Korean vets, Vietnam vets, and those who may have served in these eras but were not deployed.  Space is limited.  This is a veterans only trip. Sorry, non-veteran friends and family.  Adult "guardian" volunteers and students will travel with the veterans to provide assistance and support so every veteran has a memorable and rewarding experience.

The Northeastern High School Honor Bus is a student-organized group that began in 2011. The group hosts two bus trips a year, one in the fall and one in the spring.  We welcome all Veterans to join us on this Day of Gratitude, but especially encourage Vietnam vets to attend. All Veterans will be provided with a T-shirt, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Typical Schedule of the Day:

  • 7am: Check in (Northeastern High School Cafeteria)
  • 7:30am: Breakfast
  • 8:30-8:45am: Departure from School
  • 10:30am- 3:45pm: WW2, Vietnam, Korean Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery
  • 5:30pm: Arrival back at School
  • 5:45pm- Dinner

*Please note that all times are estimates*

WITF is looking for stories about the Vietnam War!

WITF is collecting stories from Vietnam veterans, anti-war activists, current members of the military, family members of Vietnam veterans, Vietnamese-Americans, and members of the community that lived through the Vietnam era but did not serve. Select stories may be chosen to be featured in an upcoming WITF documentary which is currently in production and slated for release in the Fall in conjunction with the national Ken Burns series.

You can share your story here.
