The witf Media Center will be displaying the photography of Art Straub from May 9-July 5, 2013 during business hours at 4801 Lindle Road in Harrisburg, PA. A free wine and cheese reception will be held on Thursday, June 13 from 5-7 p.m. This reception is open to the public!

Art Straub is a nature photographer from the New York metropolitan area. He uses an Olympus E-500 and practices digital image manipulation. “I’m trying to use the image I captured with my camera to convey the feelings I experienced at the scene.”

Recently, Art completed a 365-day photo project. He created and posted an image online every day for a year. While living in Pittsburgh, Pa., traveling and working as a photojournalist, Art captured over one thousand 35mm color slides. He became interested in photography during high school. His uncle, a semi-professional photographer, inspired him and a teacher encouraged him.

Art received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Duquesne University. He also has a Master of Science in Information Technology and works as an IT consultant. He has been in Harrisburg since 1980, has four children and continues to build his portfolio.
