Classical meets the blues in performances by Corky Siegel and the Chamber Blues.
Walking the line between Beethoven and B.B. King , Corky Siegel with his acclaimed blues harmonica stylings and the West End String Quartet with percussionist Frank Donaldson has pioneered an original, genre-busting Chamber blues - a fresh, innovative sound capturing the sparkling qualities of classical music merged with the emotional melodic style of blues, all within an intimate chamber setting.
Described by critics internationally as: remarkable, astonishing, extraordinary, hot, mesmerizing, joyous and outrageous fun, Corky Siegel and the Chamber Blues bring their unique sound to witf’s Center Stage in a concert recorded at the Ware Center in Lancaster.
Also on the program, another side-splitting tale as told by Phillip Gulley, whose stories of the fictitious town on Harmony, Indiana have made him a bestselling author. His tale of a hometown spelling bee champion is from a performance at the Lititz Storytelling Festival.
