Russ Neff is one of the founding fathers of the Central PA Friends of Jazz. As the host of the jazz radio program  My Favorite Things on witf –fm , he was involved in launching the organization in 1980. Although the show is no longer on radio, Russ still produces two hours of jazz each week distributed online. If you go to the Live 365 website and type in My Favorite Things, you can hear a new program each Friday produced by Russ.

As part of the radio show, Russ often produced special seasonal jazz programs.  This year, with York-based saxophonist Tim Warfield touring his “All-Star Jazzy Christmas” show in the region, and with pianist Steve Rudolph releasing his new album with Jonathan Ragonese, Ardent Marigolds, we thought it would be fun to get Russ to come back to the studio as a special guest host to create another Christmas jazz program.

Both Warfield's and Rudolph's earlier Christmas recordings are featured on the program, as well as holiday treats by Wynton Marsalis, Dave McKenna, Duke Ellington, The Modern Jazz Quartet and others. Even ol’ Satchmo will be by to deliver his rendition of The Night Before Christmas. Join us for the Center Stage Jazz Christmas party starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday night.

Listen to our live stream online.
