"Two of your best senses are not reliable when it comes to the theremin," says Rob Schwimmer, a member of the New York Theremin Society. "You look and you don't see anything happening and you don't feel anything happening but in fact you are touching something; you're in an electromagnetic field so that you are manipulating the invisible."

The NY Theremin Society came about in 2005 as a result of a meeting between Dorit Chrysler and Suzanne Fiol as a way to connect with other theremin players and to bring the instrument out of obscurity. Now, members of the group put on performances that consist of original and familiar works in all styles, from classical to pop.

The NY Theremin Society will be performing at Campus Theater in downtown Lewisburg on Wednesday, October 30th at 7:30pm. The show is free and sponsored by The Weis Center. More information is available at their website: https://www.bucknell.edu/arts-and-performance/weis-center/events/ny-theremin-society.html
