Stephanie Blythe is one of the most highly respected opera singers of her generation. Earlier this year, she appeared in her own Live from Lincoln Center special, Celebration!  Stephanie Blythe Meets Kate Smith, on PBS.  She also sang the role of Fricka, queen of the gods, in the Metropolitan Opera’s recent $16 million Ring Cycle, which was also broadcast on PBS.

Le Violins du Roy takes its name from the renowned string orchestra of the court of the French kings. The group has a core membership of 15 players and has been a part of the music scene in Quebec City since it was founded in 1984. Although they perform with modern instruments, their approach to the music of the 17th and 18th century is strongly influenced by research into period performance practices.

The program on October 14 will feature music of Bach, Handel, Haydn and Telemann.
