"It's fun, it's balanced, it's clean, it's professional." That's how executive director and co-owner Eric Wirsing describes The Perfect 5th Musical Arts Center in Mechanicsburg. "It's a place that specializes in musical eduction...We have group lessons, we have private lessons, we have recitals, we have ways to train bands and ways to form bands."

There are instrument lessons for anything from flute and piano to guitar and banjo and even ukulele. But there are also classes like Rock Band which is meant to compliment private lessons and immerse students in the experience of making music together. Music business and recording classes make The Perfect 5th a school the provides students with access to just about every aspect of the music world.

The Perfect 5th has also been embracing technology and using it to do Skype lessons and cyber classes for those who can't make it into the facility or for home schooled students.

The school also holds recitals and open mic nights. "We do an open mic usually the last Wednesday of every month," says Terry Selders, associate director at The Perfect 5th. "That's totally open to the public and we encourage people to come even if they just want to listen and don't want to participate."

The Perfect 5th is holding an open house this Saturday, December 15 from 2-5pm. For more information you can check out their website
