An Unexpected Turn of Good Weather: The Indian Summer Jars

Written by Joe Ulrich, Arts & Culture Desk and WITF Host | Jul 31, 2012 7:07 PM

When I asked about how they came up with the name Indian Summer Jars, the two Sarahs that make up this folk duo described to me, "the feel-good moments that you get from that unexpected turn of good weather and what that makes you inclined to do. The jars part of our name is about preserving those moments when we choose to break from our routine and really live our lives [and] sharing them with others and encouraging them to do the same."

They met while out performing their own gigs and eventually teamed up in 2006 to create the folk duo Indian Summer Jars. Since then they've played numerous venues, recorded two full-length albums and have received numerous forms of recognition. They'll be performing at Waltz Vineyards in Manheim on Saturday, August 11 at 5:30pm.
