The H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center in Shippensburg presents their annual Festival Celebration Series with three concerts featuring outstanding guest artists appearing in the area for the first time.
On July 12, world-renowned violinist Sarah Chang joins the orchestra to perform a suite from West Side Story arranged for violin and orchestra. On July 19, rising star pianist Simone Dinnerstein, who has had a number of recent bestselling recordings, will perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2. On July 26, vocal star mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves sings selections from her two signature opera roles, Carmen and Dalila along with a medley of Gershwin tunes.
Each concert begins at 8 pm and will be conducted by David Amado, currently music director of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra. There’s more information and tickets available at the Luhrs Center website.
