Those interested in taking early advantage of this opportunity may do so beginning Jan 20, by calling at 1-800-233-9483, or by going online to www.witf.org. The annual on-air portion of the Roses campaign will take place February 7-14, but make your contribution early, delivery options narrow as Valentine’s Day approaches.
To add a little variety to this fundraising effort and a “green” twist to the traditional gift giving, WITF will offer donors the opportunity to make a $75 contribution this year and plant a tree-seedling in honor or memory of someone special in the new WITF Woodland in York. Recipients will receive a newly designed Valentine certificate in recognition of the contribution and donors will be invited to the spring planting.
Commenting on the WITF “Roses” campaign, WITF VP of Multimedia Content & Distribution, Mitzi Trostle, said, "I suppose it's only human nature to overlook those people and things which are most dear to us, but, this is an easy way to honor a special someone who is always there for you, while supporting the radio station that is always there for you too. She added, “Remember the two great loves of your life - a special someone and your hometown public media station WITF.”
