WITF-FM 89.5’s Tim Lambert was the recipient of a National Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) 2006 Edward R. Murrow Award for excellence in electronic journalism.
WITF-FM was given the award in the Feature: Hard News category for Flight 93: Five Years Later. Award credit is also given to WITF Audio Systems manager, Casey Houtz and Damon Boughamer, who served as sound engineer.
Flight 93: Five Years Later, also a regional Edward R. Murrow Award winner in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, placed first over the 13 other regional Edward R. Murrow winners from across the country.
WITF-FM is the only radio station in Pennsylvania to receive this prestigious honor. This is the first time WITF-FM has been awarded a national Murrow.
